training yesterday was quite tiring come to think of it.. dawn had to go halfway for her parents function thing.. so she pang sei me to race k1 500 with charmaine.. AH!! my balance!! i keep telling myself that i can do it.. i must not rock the stupid boat.. but once i up cycle i just cant help but to kick hard then..whao.. the boat will like rock here n there.. i HAVE TO MASTER BALANCE! sighs.. damn terrible race la..sighs. the 1000 with dawn was ok only.. i really wanted to catch up with brigette n meishan's boat.. but i guess we are just not there yet.. but we can do it dawn!.. 4.33 min.. we can improve until 4.16 min! must have faith and confidence in ourselves!! and thanks for the socks!! they are damn cute! i like XD and i must say i am really proud of the j1 k2 peeps cause they put up a really tough fight especially in the 500 sprints. GOOD JOB everyone! Only 6 more weeks to the nationals..its gonna be a very tough fight.. but I believe that njc canoeing can do it. we will win the nationals again this year no matter what the odds are because we have done so much in the past 5 months plus and it WILL NOT come to waste. We have trained so hard just for this nationals and we will put up a tough fight no matter what others say. To all the j1 members, I believe in each and everyone of you all.. so never give up during trainings. Continue to persevere and your efforts will pay off one day. Just remember, the whole team will be behind you to give you all their support and we will forever have each other. heart n soul go the distance!

I was really looking forward in meeting up with part of the old gang yesterday after training.. but oh man.. poor khal injured her knee then couldn’t meet up.. then joee was like 4 ppl go again ah?? No point le la.. so in the end the meeting was cancelled.. sighs.. haven’t seen the old gang for ages already le.. I was really damn sad that it was cancelled la.. SAM!!!!! WHY??!!!!.. but thankfully the canoeists all went out to cine for dinner so I didn’t have to eat dinner alone XD.. haha ..but the outing turned out a bit weird..i didn’t really give much thought about it.. but later in the night.. jasmine was telling me that it was a bit weird.. shall say that later..well yeah.. like usual we coulnt decide on what to eat .. there was the usual subway,pastamania, yoshinoya(in which all of us coulnt decide where). In the end everyone split up.. me,cheryl,sze,jas,berny went to eat at subway, dee, flo n meiqi went to eat at yoshi then all the guys went down to the foodcourt to eat..(I guess this was the weird part that jasmine was saying) she was like saying.. we go out together then should accommodate to the majority..its like very weird to split to eat.. I guess maybe she think too much ba.. but hopefully is just nothing really important.. but the dinner was quite funny actually..haha crapped really a lot with everyone..the most funny part was when jas asked me how to be more explosive.. then I turned to sze min and asked how she trained to be more explosive on t1..LOL.. then she said , go lt4 to train explosiveness HAHAHAHA damn funny la! ( canoeist inside joke) we laughed like crazy over that.. then we talked over about the j1 girls team and well you get the point la.. then we saw debbie with tom, sean n kaleb..haha it was damn funny la cause we were laughing Debbie was THE MAN.. and she was saying that she wanted to watch she’s the man..haha. that one was pretty funny… everyone didn’t really stay up late. The guys zaoed first then the girls.. me meiqi n jasmine stayed up in town after that. We went to this hotel and went to the 2nd floor to sit on the sofa to talk. Really stoned for a while.. but after that when we started talking about the team ..we just coulnt stop.it was only until the waitress kept on asking us if we wanted drinks then did we leave.. then went over to starbucks to drink some raspberry milkshake( it was a mistake jas) and talked and talked an talked.. man.. I was dead tired.. then we went home.. yeah.. that’s about it for yesterday.
YAY!!! Today was finally family day! Haven’t gone out with them for ages!! Haha.. went shopping to suntec!!!.. and the worst thing that happened was that there was a human traffic jam on the overhead bridge cos the stupid escalator broke down.. so we ended up smelling ppls sweat while the wonderful cooling sun blared against our eyes.. then we were like UP THERE for a friking long time.. I was DAMN PISSED!!! Then FINALLY the crowd started moving.. I was shockeded to know that there were actually so many ppl living in Singapore.. just a wonder that the bridge didn’t break down also.. well my mood went high high after that cos we bought a lot of things!! Haha shopping is DAMN fun with your parents around you XDXD.. guess that’s all for today.. shopping really kills the feet man..haha I think I lost around 2 kg just by walking and carrying things. Haha=D

Her hair was up in a pony tail,
her favorite dress tied with a bow.
Today was "Daddy's Day" at school,
and she couldn't wait to go.

But her mommy tried to tell her,
that she probably should stay home.
Why the kids might not understand,
if she went to school alone.

But she was not afraid;
she knew just what to say.
What to tell her classmates
of why he wasn't there today.

But still her mother worried,
for her to face this day alone.
And that was why once again,
she tried to keep her daughter home.

But the little girl went to school
eager to tell them all.
Of a dad who's never there
a dad who never calls.

There were daddies along the wall in back,
for everyone to meet.
Children squirming impatiently,
anxious in their seats.

One by one the teacher called
a student from the class.
To introduce their daddy,
as seconds slowly passed.

At last the teacher called her name,
every child turned to stare.
each of them was searching,
for a man who wasn't there.

"Where's her daddy at?!"
she heard a boy call out.
"She probably doesn't have one,"
another student dared to shout.

And from somewhere near the back,
She heard another father say,
"Looks like another deadbeat dad,
too busy to waste his day."

The words did not offend her,
as she smiled up at her Mom,
and looked back at her teacher,
who told her to go on.

And with hands behind her back,
Slowly she began to speak
And out from the mouth of a child,
came words incredibly unique.

"My Daddy couldn't be here,
because he lives so far away.
But I know he wishes he could be,
Since this is such a special day.

And though you cannot meet him,
I wanted you to know.
All about my daddy
and how much he loves me so.

He loved to tell me stories
he taught me to ride my bike.
He surprised me with pink roses,
and taught me to fly a kite.

We used to share fudge sundaes,
and ice cream in a cone.
And though you cannot see him.
I'm not standing here alone."

"Cause my daddy's always with me,
even though we are apart
I know because he told me,
he'll forever be in my heart"

With that, her little hand reached up,
and lay across her chest.
Feeling her own heartbeat,
beneath her favorite dress.

And from somewhere in the crowd of dads,
her mother stood in tears.
Proudly watching her daughter,
who was wise beyond her years.

And when she dropped her hand back down,
staring straight into the crowd.
She finished with a voice so soft,
but its message clear and loud.

"I love my daddy very much,
he's my shining star.
And if he could, he'd be here,
but heaven's just too far "

"You see he was a fireman
and died just this past year
When airplanes hit the towers
and taught Americans to fear.

But sometimes when I close my eyes,
it's like he never went away."
And then she closed her eyes,
and saw him there that day.

And to her mother's amazement,
she witnessed with surprise.
A room full of daddies and children,
all starting to close their eyes.

Who knows what they saw before them,
Who knows what they felt inside
Perhaps for merely a second,
they saw him at her side.

"I know you're with me Daddy,"
to the silence she called out.
And what happened next made believers,
of those once filled with doubt.

Not one in that room could explain it,
for each of their eyes had been closed..
But there on the desk beside her,
was a fragrant long-stemmed pink rose.
